THE BRETHREN BOOK OF RATATOSKR
ORIGINS:
1:1 Ratatoskr, Lord of Squirrels, was a messenger. Every day, all day, it was Ratatoskr’s duty to run up and down Ygdrassil, the World Tree, passing notes between Snake, Lord of the Earth… and Eagle, Lord of the Sky.
1:2 Weary of the constant back and forth between Eagle and Snake, (mostly banalities, gossip and the occasional new recepie), and only wanting to play games with friends, Ratatosk decided one day to bunk off…
1:3 Without Ratatoskr to deliver messages, Eagle and Snake could no longer communicate… furious, Eagle and Snake devised a cunning plan to force him back to work… they would eat his kin until he complied…
1:4 Ratatosk, upon returning home was horrified by the carnage… there was only a note left in his letterbox: “Get back to work”. Thinking that this was his all his fault, Ratatorskr raced once again up and down Ygdrassil, endlessly delivering messages…
1:5 Unknown to Ratatoskr; Eagle and Snake, having developed a taste for squirrel meats and confident in their control of Ratatosk, continued happily to feast upon his kin at every opportunity…
1:6 It was not long before Eagle and Snake’s betrayal was discovered… and in an explosive moment of rage, Ratatosk rose up and in a flurry of feathers and scales… delivered his final messages of death upon his opressors…
1:7 Infused with a new found uncontrollable blood lust and driven mad with power, Ratatosk began to unleash his vengance upon the Universe…
